Vehicle Disclaimer

If you volunteer to have your vehicle worked on at Backdoors Auto class there is inherent risk. We will do everything in our power to make those risks known so you can make an educated decision about repairs. We cannot always predict how repairs will go despite our best efforts for safety and quality. There may be severe damage due to unforeseen circumstances and inexperienced students learning. This is part of the process. If it is determined we cannot fix the issue and the car is no longer drive-able in safe condition or it is above our garages capacity, Backdoors Auto will provide one single tow to a place of your choice within 30 miles at no charge to you. Backdoors Auto class will NOT be paying for another shops repairs under any circumstances. We will always strive to provide good communication and to ensure repairs are handled as considerately as possible but there is inherent risk. Understand, we are not some for-profit company. This is educational mutual aid. Please understand the risks. Although we have had an incredible success rate, its our responsibility to inform you of this disclaimer and if you do not agree to our terms and conditions legally relinquishing our responsibility, we will not be able to perform work on your vehicle.

Personal safety disclaimer

Working on vehicles is dangerous. Backdoors Auto class assumes zero responsibility for your personal safety. We will provide the basic safety items such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection but that cannot protect us from all the hazardous conditions when working on vehicles. This is mutual aid and a labor of love but risk is inherent. Working on vehicles is dangerous and if you’re uncomfortable with a specific task or repair you can always opt out of class at any point. Your comfort level is important to us. Backdoors auto class assumes zero responsibility for your personal safety. When paying for class you will be asked to sign and understand a waiver legally relinquishing our responsibility. Again, we will try our best to ensure safety and accessibility for everyone but we will not be held liable for any harm or bodily injury due to the inherent risks in vehicle repair.

To ensure safety, during hands-on repair days and combination class days, there will be a zero tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use.

To ensure safety you must wear proper attire during the hands-on repair days and the combination class days. Specifically closed toe shoes. Hair ties can be provided at request.

To ensure safety, you must be at least 18 years old to attend class or accompanied by a parent or guardian.
